Artwork service levels

Separate a file check, adaptation, rebuild and full production setup

The right scope depends on what files exist, what must change and how the final item will be produced. A clean editable source file is very different from a flattened screenshot or low-resolution image.

01 / PREFLIGHT

Artwork Check & Output

Review a near-ready file against the agreed production specifications and prepare final output.

  • Dimensions and bleed
  • Resolution and colour
  • Basic output checks
02 / ADAPT

Resize & Versioning

Adapt approved artwork to new proportions, content versions, outlets or products.

  • Layout recomposition
  • Text and image updates
  • Multiple agreed sizes
03 / RECOVER

Tracing & Rebuild

Recreate suitable simple artwork when editable files, vectors or clean production assets are unavailable.

  • Logo or line tracing
  • Simple layout rebuild
  • Missing-file recovery
04 / DTP

Production Artwork Setup

Prepare technical artwork around dielines, open sizes, folds, cuts and finishing requirements.

  • Dieline placement
  • Open-size artwork
  • Production file package
Starting-file condition

The source file determines what can be preserved, repaired or changed

Before quoting, we assess whether the supplied file is editable, complete and suitable for the required output. Some files only need technical setup; others require partial or full reconstruction.

01 EDITABLE SOURCE

Best starting point

Packaged working files with fonts, linked images and vectors allow more reliable adaptation.

02 VECTOR PDF

Potentially usable

A clean PDF may support output or limited edits, depending on how it was created and protected.

03 FLATTENED IMAGE

Limited editability

JPG, PNG, screenshot or flattened files may require tracing, replacement assets or a full rebuild.

04 LEGACY / INCOMPLETE

Assess before promising

Missing fonts, links, layers or old software files can change the time, accuracy and achievable result.

Scope note: adaptation is not the same as new creative design. Low-resolution images cannot always be restored, and automatic enlargement does not create genuine detail. Colour can vary between screens, proofing and final materials. Customers must confirm content accuracy, ownership and permission for all supplied logos, fonts, images and artwork. Font replacement, image sourcing, redraw complexity, copy changes, editable source delivery and additional versions are quoted separately when required.

Print-ready artwork FAQ

Questions to settle before production begins

The final result depends on both the source file and the exact production specification.

What does print-ready artwork mean?

It means the file is prepared for a defined product, size and supplier specification, including agreed bleed, safe area, resolution, colour setup, dielines and finishing layers where required.

Can Jprint use my Canva, JPG, PNG or PDF file?

Possibly. A file can be reviewed for output suitability, but editability and quality vary. Supply the highest-quality export plus all original assets, and send an editable source when available.

Can a low-resolution logo or image be fixed?

Simple logos or line graphics may be suitable for vector tracing. Photographs and complex artwork cannot always be restored because genuine missing detail is not contained in the source file.

Why are fonts and linked images missing?

Working files may reference fonts and images stored separately. Send a packaged project with authorised fonts and linked assets, or approve suitable replacements where licensing allows.

Will printed colour match my screen exactly?

Not necessarily. Screens emit RGB light, while printing uses inks on physical materials. Colour is also affected by profiles, ink, substrate, finishing and viewing conditions. Proofing expectations should be agreed before production.

Can Jprint redesign the artwork while preparing it?

Yes, but new creative design is a different scope from technical adaptation. Explain the changes required so design time, concepts, revisions and production preparation can be quoted correctly.
